Let’s try something a bit different today. Give me three vehicles you would need a “shot” before buying. First vehicle would require a “shot” of alcohol before you would buy it. The second car would require a “shot” from a needle because you’re certain you might catch something after driving it. The last car would require being shot by a bullet before you’d ever consider owning it.

*All vehicles must be able to drive under their own power for 2,000 miles on the day of purchase.

Let’s how this goes. Enjoy yourselves!

1: Ford Focus RS. Yes, it’s a damn good car. It’s also as near as makes no difference $50k in Canada.

2: A Gen 1 Astro that got passed down from airport shuttle to family to family, and the current owner is in college. I don’t want to know what went on inside there.

3: Cletus44's old Europa. Nuff said.

Shot of alcohol: Alfa Romeo 159 wagon 3.2 JTS Q4. I’d need the alcohol to grow some balls, as I’d like one but can’t rationalize the purchase just yet. This one is worryingly cheap.

Shot of some kind drug? Toyota Auris Hybrid . A rational pick I hate everything about. Ugly, bad driving dynamics, smug owners, bad stigma.
Known in the US as a Scion iM if I’m not mistaken. You cannot make me buy one of these when I’m of sound mind and don’t have a gun against my head.

Kinja'd!!!

Shot resulting in a bullet wound: Stanced crossover. Basically everything I dislike.

OK.

A shot of Whiskey would get me into a modified SRT4.

If it’s for sale there’s probably something seriously wrong with it. But it could be fun.

A Tetanus shot for any “Rat Rod”.

Kinja'd!!!

Patina is nice but rust+multiple sharp edges? Eeeh..

Shoot me in the head if I buy a used Allroad.

Kinja'd!!!

I love them but I know the relationship will end as horribly as my marriage did.

I would love am RS, but that Canadian price tag. I guess I’ll just stick to my planned mods.

Words cannot be used to describe how deep my want is for a CX Loadrunner but given the legendary Citroen reliability as well as the hard miles these beasts have seen as news delivery vehicles, I’d have to be relatively drunk actually consider buying one. (2000 miles? Erm, maybe...)

I’d love one of these things as well, but they’re probably filled to the brim with diseases and bacterium, so an inoculation would be a safe bet.

Finally, I hate all mini-crossovers with a passion. Things like even the XC90 (ok, not being biased here) at least offer some semblance of off-road capability. But things like the Trax, HR-V, etc. which are heavier than the hatches they’re based on so get worse economy and performance with no off-road benefit are hateful in my book. Form has to follow function, and if you build something that looks ‘rugged’, it sure as hell should be able to do at least a little more than your average car. Heck, even a Volvo V60 Cross Country would probably fare better off-road than a Chevy Trax despite being nothing more than a lifted AWD wagon.
